The Value of Battered Women

Written by Merve on March 25, 2007

It is a known fact that in the minds of many people, the easily most abused person in the household or in marriages would usually be the wife. Either they are beaten up or physically and mentally abused is the typical feedback that people around would hear. Foundations and movements have been done to help fight off the said abuse for these valued women and support in any way is something that they will surely need.

Abused Women in the World

Their fate would usually depend on their nature of selecting their partners. There are some who would unfortunately land masked men who would show their true colors upon marriage. While marriage is something that would top off all successful relationships, it is also a transition stage where couples would have to adjust their lifestyle and manner of living.

Pressure is something that would usually ignite quarrels and physical harm in most cases which in turn would lead towards ending up in court battles to seek protective custody in most cases for the abused. Such a resort would be normal considering they want to avoid any further encounters which could lead to worst situations.

The Limited Choices of People Seeking Aid

Written by Merve on March 19, 2007

Hunger in the World of Poverty

Around the world, it cannot be denied that there are a lot of people who are experiencing poverty and issues regarding their manner of living. A lot would depend on where they are situated, the country and of course the manner of living that majority of the region is experiencing. Not all countries are blessed with a good economy to which people can find a way to survive with the available jobs to choose from. Some are just plain unlucky to be situated in them like Vietnam, Africa and so on.

The good thing about the world is that people from other countries do not hesitate to lend a helping hand to the best of their abilities. Help in any form cannot be measured and people in need do not really have much choice. Hence beggars really cannot be choosers in this case.

Help in the form of food, clothing and other materials essential for living is being sent to most parts of the world. Some would even render volunteer work and services just to reach them. In a sense, they can call themselves lucky that there are people who still care for what the world has to deal with today.

Community Service in Educational Curriculums

Written by Merve on March 15, 2007

In most educational institutions, community service is placed alongside the entire curriculum so that up and coming yuppies can get a glimpse of other things they can do outside that of contributing their expertise and working for a living. Exposing them to the people who have not the same luck that they have, like obtaining degrees and becoming bums is a good way of showing them that life is too precious to take for granted.

Also, taking on community service work where they can do their share in helping various foundations and organizations that aim to answer the call of the needs of various groups is something that people may want to devote a part of their lives. It does not cost much for people to do so. A portion of their time and what they can offer is all that is needed. Everything is purely voluntary but the best way to see where they can help out once they are set out in the world and venture on things that they can contribute for a better society and world to live in.

Why People Devote Time to Charity Work

Written by Merve on March 9, 2007

There are people who would prefer to devote some part of their time doing good deeds in the form of service assistance for charitable institutions. Unlike organizations which offer good compensation and monetary packages for services rendered, charity organizations do not have that much to offer and are more of voluntary services coming from people who want to share a part of their time for worthy causes.

Children In Need of Charity

While not all people would perform such time and duties, such commitments are not imposed nor required for anyone. It is simply a matter of wanting to do a good deed or service. Practically all countries have their own charitable institutions that are open for charity work.

Such charity organizations include that of the “Save the Children” in the United Kingdom. Devoting much of their time to fighting for children that are victims of poverty and violence is something that can pay-off in terms of internal feelings rather than color of money for most people. Not all services rendered need to be financially rewarded. Sometimes the feeling of sharing offers something more that money can buy.
