Give Life, Donate Blood

blooddrop1.gifAn easy charity and one that is very vital is a blood donation. Everywhere in the world there are sick people who are in need of a transfusion in order to survive. Accidents happen all the time and the victims will often need blood to replace what they are losing fast. This is where your blood comes in.

Donating blood is easy. You just need to check with your local Red Cross or blood banks where and when they have a blood donation activity taking place. They will normally get less than pint of your blood, after they’ve checked that you aren’t anaemic or have been exposed to any infectious diseases. It is a pretty quick and painless process. You can only give blood once every 16 weeks - though some will allow a 12 week gap between donations.

By donating blood , know that you are saving a life. Though you will never know to whom it will go, you can rest assured that it is used to keep someone alive. There can be no greater gift that.
